One to One Prospecting

This is very similar to One-to-One retail marketing. After you ask if they love candles, and they love the sample you gave them all you need to add is,"Would you like to know how to buy these products at half price?" or "Have you ever thought about making extra money selling candles?" They will be interested or not interested. Just like in retailing, if they are not interested they are not rejecting you personally, they are just not interested in the business offer - at this time. Always give them your business card with a reminder that if their situation ever changes to give you a call. As the economy goes up and down and as jobs come and go, the person adamantly not interested six months ago is now ready to see your presentation.

Finding Prospects

The #1 question on the mind of a new distributor is where are they going to find customers and business partners for their Scent-Sations business. Are you still working on that list of everyone you know? Not only are those people retail prospects, they are also business prospects. Let each one speak for themselves. Never make that decision for them thinking that you know their financial situation. Many financially successful people are successful because they saw opportunity before others and took action to make that idea a success. Some people with the outward appearance of being affluent are struggling to stay ahead or may be working 60+ hours a week to maintain their success. Offer them the opportunity to make a substantial income part-time working from home. People who are already successful are often the first to recognize financial opportunity to make more while working less.

With all this in mind, ask everyone you know and meet, friend or stranger, if they are open to other ways to make more money. As you get used to doing this it actually gets easier over time. Study, practice, and rehearse this process until it is second nature to you and you feel comfortable saying it. Now you will realize that everywhere you go there are prospects for your business - they just don't know it yet.
